50 Anos UNICRE

Celebrating the 50 years of UNICREFinancial Credit InstitutionS.A., we bring past and future together to tell our story. The legacy says a lot about our role in the future of payments in Portugal, but there are those who have even more to say.

Clients, partners and employees share stories about UNICRE's impact on the evolution of their companies and careers. These are first-person stories that inspire us to build a better future for everyone, a future made of history.

Through REDUNIQ, our brand specialising in the development of payment solutionsEvery day we endeavour to offer Portuguese businesses the solutions they need not only to sell more and better, but above all to adapt to a rapidly changing world that has given birth to more demanding and digital consumers.

Mespite the most adverse conditions, as was the case with the pandemic, UNICRE stood firm by the side of the Portuguese, helping them to overcome this very complicated phase in their lives with a great deal of creativity and technological innovation.

Diogo Almeida, DIG-IN

The case of the Restoration is paradigmatic of this.

When the pandemic closed all the restaurants, Diogo Almeida, Product Manager and Head of Digital Innovation at DIG-IN, needed a partner to help him get even closer to his customers and he found it in REDUNIQ.

The need to provide delivery solutions to the restaurants and foodies that form part of his business network during lockdowns led Diogo Almeida and DIG-IN to rely on online payment solutions from REDUNIQ, to help make the mission of getting meals to customers' homes easier:

"REDUNIQ's technologies have allowed us to obtain the flexibility and innovation we needed for our products to be at customers' premises and available to be consumed"

says Diogo, while guaranteeing that this is "a partnership for life!", not just for his business, but for all the restaurants that can still count on DIG-IN.

Tiago Castel-Branco, Duque Brewpub

It was 2016 when, from a simple conversation between friends, an idea was born that would become a reality and change their lives forever: the opening of Lisbon's first craft brewery.

With innovation in their blood, Tiago and Miguel, our two entrepreneurs, were looking for a partner that would allow them to offer their customers a unique experience. 100% cashless payment.

"We wanted to have more security, more hygiene and a lower cost than what physical money brings" says Tiago.

With people used to making digital payments due to the pandemicIn the end, this wish came true thanks to UNICRE which, through its innovative services, has automated and debureaucratised payments, ensuring that, as Tiago emphasises,

"At the end of the day, when we close the door, the money is in our account and we just have to concentrate on our art."

Dilen Ratanji, VetBizz

When Dilen Ratanji set up his consultancy start-up in 2009, he had in mind a business where technology would be king. Dilen believed and UNICRE believed with him. This led to a partnership that continues today, but with an eye to the future, as Dilen says:

"UNICRE has innovative and pioneering market solutions that will be very useful for our business. From trivial payment solutions such as Multibanco and MB WAY references or the integration of invoicing with our software, to solutions such as Smart POS which will be extremely useful, for example, for a home veterinary surgeon to receive payments from clients via their smartphone or allow them to use their mobile phone. purchases in instalments up to 6 times without interest".

Paving the way for the success of these businesses would not have been possible, however, without highly trained and dedicated employees such as Eva Roseta.

Eva Roseta, UNICRE collaborator

In 2006, Eva kicked off her career at UNICRE by taking part in the first campaign UNIBANCO linked to a football World Cup.

"I was involved in a very funny campaign related to the World Cup which, in practice, consisted of offering our customers the chance to buy plasmas in interest-free instalments, something innovative at the time, by automatically paying for them on their credit card"

explains Eva who, almost 20 years later, is still one of the main spearheads of our commercial area and personalised customer service:

"Personally and professionally, all my growth in life has been accompanied by UNICRE. I graduated here, got married here, had children here, UNICRE will always be part of my life story."

These are just a few of the many success stories we've helped to write over the last 50 years, and there are many more we hope to write in the future.
