  • Retailer-assisted payment for purchases

In this option, the retailer selects the payment transaction at the POS and enters the amount of the purchase. The customer then confirms the amount or not and enters the PIN (if authentication is done by signature, the customer only needs to confirm the transaction).

  • Self-service shopping

Self-service shopping payment (also known as Pay & Go) refers to a payment system carried out at automatic tills in shops or supermarkets, allowing customers to register and pay for their purchases without the direct assistance of an employee.

Customers use self-service terminals where they autonomously pass the items they have purchased through a barcode reader and make payment using various methods, such as credit/debit cards, Qr Code or MB WAY. This method is increasingly popular as it provides greater speed and convenience in the purchasing process.

  • Contactless payment

Once the amount has been entered by the retailer or by the automatic system (in the case of self-service payments in supermarkets, for example), all the customer has to do is bring their card or smartphone close to the POS for the transaction to take place. At the end, the POS will issue a receipt.

  • Purchase returns

When there is a need to return part or all of the value of a purchase, the retailer can use the POS to credit the amount to the customer's account.

For this to happen, the customer will need to use the same card with which they paid for the purchase and have information about the date and time the transaction took place, something that is usually present on the invoice they receive.
